Legacy communication systems were slowing down a global organization.
Westervelt's global communication system relied on legacy technology that required more time and resources than the internal team could provide. The organization needed a better way to manage content across multiple websites, blogs, internal applications, and company divisions without duplicating effort or relying on disconnected systems.
The business problem was not simply, "Can we update our websites?"
It was: How do we give a global enterprise one scalable content platform that can support corporate, internal, and external digital experiences across multiple divisions?
Westervelt did not need another isolated website project. They needed a scalable content management foundation that could support the way the entire organization communicates and operates.
A global land management organization needed one source of truth.
For an enterprise with multiple divisions, content management becomes more than a marketing function. It affects internal communication, external customer experiences, operational workflows, and the ability to keep teams aligned.
Westervelt needed a system that could serve the company today while scaling for future needs. That meant building a platform flexible enough to power corporate websites, internal systems, and extranet experiences from one central database.
"They brought us an elegant solution that we could use today as well as scale for the future."
Hydrangea, a multi-headed content management system built for enterprise scale
To solve Westervelt's content distribution problem, a KEYSYS team led by VP of Product and senior architect Zac Bragg designed and built Hydrangea, a multi-headed content management system. Hydrangea gives the Westervelt team a central database and simple interface for managing content across blogs, websites, and internal applications.
As the project progressed, Dee, a KEYSYS Client Advocate, helped manage client communication, product demos, feedback gathering, documentation, and on-site training with Westervelt's Tuscaloosa-based team. Her work creating standard operating procedures and additional documentation helped establish clear lines of communication and support a successful engagement between Westervelt and the KEYSYS project team.
Instead of building disconnected sites one at a time, KEYSYS helped Westervelt create a scalable content platform that could support multiple audiences, divisions, and digital experiences.
- → Multi-headed content management system
- → Central database for websites, blogs, and internal applications
- → Simple content editing interface for Westervelt teams
- → Corporate, internal, and extranet website support
- → Intranet launch for internal communication and applications
- → Extranet support for Wildlife Services, Hunting Club, and Lease Management
- → Client advocacy, documentation, training, and communication support
From disconnected content systems to one enterprise platform
Hydrangea gives Westervelt a central database for managing content across multiple websites, blogs, and applications.
Content can be distributed to corporate websites, internal systems, and extranet experiences from the same platform foundation.
The intranet gives Westervelt's team a simpler way to manage and access internal content and applications.
The extranet supports Westervelt Wildlife Services, Hunting Club, and Lease Management divisions, including map-driven experiences like Clubs Seeking Members.
What once depended on legacy technology and disconnected content workflows now runs through a scalable platform built around Westervelt's enterprise needs.
